Can Mohegan Sun Justify Their Rank?
Having been launched in 1996, Mohegan Sun casino makes the first place with Foxwoods Resort Casino finishing as runner-up. Funnily enough, the latter has greater experience as it opened 3 years before in 1993.
Currently, the Mohegan Sun is a huge venue of three hotel towers merged together which accumulates a combined 1,563 guestrooms and suites.
According to the list by USA Today, the Mohegan Sun brings to life the tribal stories through the hotel’s explicit design.
What’s more, the venue has about 300,000 square feet of area, over 5,000 slot machines, 300 table games and a 33-table poker zone.
Below them in third place comes the Pechanga Casino in Temecula, California with Wynn Resorts’ Encore Boston Harbor sits at fifth.
The report states the following of the Wynn tower:
“Rooms at the Encore Boston Harbor come equipped with flat-screen TVs, high-speed wireless internet access, Wynn Dream Beds with 507-thread-count sheets, spacious marble bathrooms with separate shower and soaking tub, and voice-activated lighting and temperature controls,”
Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment, which operates the Mohegan Sun casino, reported a 7.5% year-on-year drop in its adjusted EBITDA for Q2.
Although Mohegan’s net revenue increased slightly by 0.8%, its income from operations fell 13.6% year-on-year.
